General Questions
How many flaggers can you train at a time? The OnlineFlagger.com class was designed for one student, one computer. However we have made accommodations for a small group class.
Can I get one card good for multiple states? Some states have reciprocal agreements with neighboring states. Check with the DOT or visit ATSSA’s flagger web site
How does someone become re-registered after the initial registration period has expired? After the registration period expires, the student must take a re-registration exam. The exam can be administered either by a certified instructor, a qualified proctor, or by scheduling a test to be taken via the web site. NOTE: Some states require the student to retake the course. Some state's registration period differ. A fee is required.
Will you guarantee me a job if I take this training course?
We are not a job service center and make no guarantees that you will obtain employment by taking this course. We are only providing the training class.
Is the flagger class in Spanish?
Not at this time.
Is the class in any language other than English? No. The class is narrated in English there is some reading. The final exam is not narrated so being able to read and understand English is highly suggested.
Can I buy a bunch of classes and then resell them? Yes, you can. As the purchaser of the class you will be mailed the students registration card for distribution. .

 

Why do you use a web site over an instructor led class? A class delivered via the Internet can be taken at a time that is convenient to the student and their company, like 24/7 – 365 days per year. A large class does not need scheduled; you do not need to wait until a flagger course is offered in your area. Class is taken on an as needed basis. We provide multimedia from multiple sources where instructor’s resources may be limited.
Where are the locations you offer the class?
We do not provide any specific locations for the class. Some companies may offer training centers and we will make a list of those as they are available.
Is this card good in all 50 states? Each state has its own requirements. The registration card is valid in the state of issue a few states have reciprocal agreements. Approximately 20 states have the same requirements with no modifications.
Does it have to be on some certain schedule? No, these classes can be taken at anytime of the day or night. Even on holidays.
Does you training stay consistent?
Yes, the class does stay consistent from one student to the next. Since there is no instructor, no class time will be used on the student listening to the instructor’s flagger stories. If the Federal MUTCD changes any changes that affect the content of this course will be updated and reflected in the course.
What records do you keep? We keep electronic data that pertains to a student as it relates to their participation in the course and exam. We keep the students name, address, City, State, Zip Code, phone number and email address if supplied, date the class was taken, and the score they received. However this information cannot be obtained by a phone call, we respect the students right to privacy and will not release any information. See our privacy statement.
What does your course consist of? A four-hour flagger, or traffic regulator class, taken via the Internet. We use the ATSSA curriculum for flagger training and registration. The class is based on Standards and Procedures that follow the Federal Manual On Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). In place of a live instructor, the training relies heavily on graphics, video, and interactive content with narration.
What will I learn? The main objective, of this course, is to learn how to be a safe and effective flagger. To measure the success of this program, there are several things you should understand and be able to do when you are finished. Class objectives
Why use the ATSSA curriculum? ATSSA has developed a curriculum that has been accepted by numerous DOT agencies. It is training based on the Federal Standards and is consistent in its content.
Are exams open book? Yes, students may use their notes they take in class.
Where can I take the class?
Anywhere you have access to a computer with high-speed Internet connection and that meets the system requirements.
Can I use this for a group of people? The OnlineFlagger.com class was designed for one student one computer. However, the reality is several people can congregate around a single computer monitor and view the class information. This is all based based on your computer screen size. Be realistic do not put five people around a 14 inch monitor and expect anyone to learn about flagging. To accommodate small groups where it is limited to 2 to 5 people, we put have put into place the following procedure, click on this link.
What is OnlineFlagger.com ? Provides a four-hour online flagger, or traffic regulator class. You can take this class at any time you have access to a computer that meets the system requirements, including a high speed Internet connection.

This course is based on the ATSSA curriculum.
What are the computer requirements? The web browser requires some standard Internet plug-ins that are commonly used on most websites. You may have to download some standard plug-ins that cause no harm to your computer. Any installation of plug-ins require administrator rights, again; this is not common except in corporate environments. We have a small sample class to go through that will allow you to test, adjust, download, and install everything before you purchase a class.
When I purchase classes, how much time do I have to use all the classes? Our computer is very patient they will not expire. This a great way to take advantage of multiple purchase discounts.
I need to go to work tonight how soon can I get my registration card? Once you have taken the course and successfully passed the exam a temporary certificate will be displayed for you to print, if you have a printer available. Otherwise note the Unique Student ID, and give the information to the requesting party. They will go online to the OnlineFlagger.com web site for verification, they will enter the Unique Student ID in the space provided. If you passed the written exam and the demonstration portion of the test your name is displayed that you satisfactorily passed. You will need to present a government ID as well. The permanent card is mailed from ATSSA, to the address of the person or agency that purchased the class online.

They will need to go to the OnlineFlagger.com web site for verification. They will enter the Unique Student ID that is listed on either your Registration Card or your temporary certificate. Your name will not appear here unless you have successfully taken the course and passed with the score required for your state.

How much does it cost?
The price is shown on the purchase page for the state you buy. Multiple discounts do apply. Purchase classes.
Why do I have to have high-speed Internet? The course uses graphics, animations, interactive graphics, video, and audio, to presents its content. A high-speed Internet connection will allow the information to be displayed faster. Your answers to quizzes and the final exam have to recorded online as well. What is the difference between a dial-up and high-speed Internet connection? The biggest difference is speed. Speed of loading web site pages, downloading files and accessibility to more fully featured content are all faster with High Speed Internet service. Dial-Up Internet uses 56Kbps (kilobytes) modems but actual performance is less than this speed as it is dependant on the telephone / modem connection. High Speed Internet rates can vary up to 1.5 Mbs downstream (to your PC), and up to 64Kbps upstream (from your PC). This means you can download information in seconds vs. hours on dial-up.
How long do I have to take the test? The class is about 4 hours and this allows for time to take the test.
Do I need books? You will be provided the materials you need on screen during the course.
Do you have this on CD? Not at this time.
When can I take the class? This class can be taken at any time you have access to a computer with an Internet connection, that meets the system requirements.
How long is the card good for? This will depend on requirements for the state you are working in. ATSSA's flagger.com lists the various state requirements.
Do I have to have a computer? You do not need to own a computer but you must use a computer. You can use any computer that has access to the Internet and meets the system requirements.
Will my name, address, and phone be listed on the web? ATSSA provides a database on the flagger.com web site, to provide a list of registered flaggers by state for verification purposes or when an employer is looking to hire a flagger.
Students have three options when taking the flagging class.
1) They may choose to have their name and phone number listed.
2) They may have just their name listed without a phone number.
3) Have nothing about themselves listed on the web page.

How do you maintain the student’s attention? We use movies, graphics, animations, interactive graphics, interim class quizzes, and photos.
Do you offer discounts? We do offer discounts for additional classes. The volume pricing will be displayed on the product page.
Why should I choose this type of training? The power of visuals assists people to learn through their senses Studies show that we retain 10% of what we read 20% of what we hear 30% of what we see. This is an impressive 70% of what we see and hear.
How long is the card good for? The expiration date depends on the state you are from. The expiration date will be listed on your registration card. It can be valid up to four years. You may check the requirements at www.flagger.com or from your state department of transportation.
Do you offer refunds? Sorry, there are NO refunds for any training classes. Do not purchase a class if your system does not meet or exceed the minimum system requirements.

Login to class: you have received the student UserName and Password
You have made sure the computer meets the system requirements and passed the system test
And you have approximately 4 hours set aside to take the course and exam.

Login to Account: When you purchased classes you created an account, supplying an email address and a password of your choosing.
Your account allows you to assign students to courses purchased, reorder courses, view the student status, reset the students UserName and Password from Started to Registered so they can start the course again, view and print the temporary certificate.
